The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a worldwide charitable organization founded in Paris in 1846 by a group of young Catholic lay students.  In the Ashland -Talent, Oregon area, eighteen volunteers assist the needy and vulnerable in our community.  We make no distinctions in those we aid regarding religion, race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation.  We focus primarily on assisting families facing eviction or cutoff of utilities.  We do not have an office in Ashland but usually visit people in their homes. We provide limited financial assistance and referral to other agencies.  We also help those who have fallen into homelessness.
A donation of $50 may be used for one or more of the following:

  • Bus tokens for job search or medical appointments
  • Replacement ID, birth certificate, or driver’s license for employment
  • Tent and tarp for temporary shelter
  • Sleeping bag for protection from the cold
  • Auto fuel for medical or employment appointments
